capital markets

Capital markets involve the raising of long-term funding in government and corporations and includes stock and bond markets which are governed by financial regulators.  Despite a reduced supply of funding in financial markets, given the current global economy, ENS (Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs) has the expertise and experience to uncover the appropriate solutions to meet your company’s business objectives.

ENS’s team of specialist capital markets practitioners assist major corporates, local authorities and financial institutions to access, or offer, funding in innovative ways, whilst bearing in mind each clients’ unique Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) initiatives and objectives.   Whether providing loan advice, helping issue bonds, or advising on derivative products and securitisations, our team enables clients to find low-risk options suitable to their needs, no matter how complex these are.

ENS offers a full range of services pertaining to debt and capital markets, including advising financial service providers, issuers and purchasers in both public and private securities offerings, and drafting the appropriate documentation relating thereto.  This scope of work includes, but is not limited to, advising on transactions such as:

  • initial public offerings (IPOs),
  • secondary public offerings,
  • bond issues,
  • private placements,
  • rights offers and
  • compliance with ongoing obligations in terms of the listings requirements of the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa.
